The Emotional Roller Coaster of Life - The Cut-takes Sneak Peek

A second brief teaser of The Date:

As she climbed in, she couldn't help but grumble under her breath, “Annoying monster truck.”

“What was that?” Emmett asked by the door.

She'd never say it out loud, but the man looked positively sinful in spite of wearing such simple clothes, his hair begging for her to grab, and his smell was a simply divine musk and leather. If she needed any further proof that her decision to go out with him was a mistake than the fact that she was wanting him to kiss her should have driven it home – it didn't.

“Nothing,” she replied.

She situated herself in the seat as he shut the door and came around, opening the door and getting in beside her.

The hour drive to Port Angeles was spent mostly in silence, albeit not an awkward one. Emmett had the radio in his truck on a classic rock channel, but was set at such a low volume it could actually be just about any music, Rosalie was choosing to imagine it was country – the music her father always had the radio turned to whenever they went anywhere outside of Forks.

Once they reached Port Angeles he drove straight to Gordy's Pizza & Pasta. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously at the place. Her love of this restaurant, or good pizza in general, wasn't something a lot of people knew and she'd never told Emmett about it.

The Emotional Roller Coaster of Life - The Cut-takes Sneak Peek

A brief teaser of The Date:

Rosalie looked at herself in the mirror, verifying that the dress she'd designed herself fell perfectly around her the way it was supposed to. She knew men often salivated over the little black dress, but she found that reaction to be extremely crass. Yes, little black dresses were racy and she was sure that was a large part of what appealed to the male population, but she preferred something a little more sensual and a little less sexual.

The dress she wore now was loose, allowing her skin to breath if she needed to do anything like dancing or running. It was made of a simple flat teal which most would assume was a cotton or polyester if they were to look at it without touching it, but was actually made out of an extremely fine flat satin. The dress fell to her knees with only the slightest of widening at the bottom of the skirt, the top just tight enough to hint at her cleavage without giving it up, but the piece de resistance were the cut-outs in the dress – showing the smallest touch of the side of her left breast, a portion of her right hip, her belly button, a hint of her leg at the same height as her garter belt – and since the dress was loose enough to move, the cut-outs would shift as she walked to show slightly more or less modest areas of skin.

She was in the dress, the stockings with garters, the lacy underwear, and the three-inch stilettos all to go on a date with Emmett. A date at an unspecified location and of an unspecified length. She still couldn't believe she'd agreed to it the week prior, but she needed to make him stop asking her out someway. Besides, she had an itch she needed scratching, and her silicone Demetri wasn't cutting it for her at the moment.

The Emotional Roller Coaster of Life - The Cut-takes

The Emotional Roller Coaster of Life - The Cut-takes

The Cut-takes will feature scenes from people who aren't main characters, scenes too short to make official chapters, scenes that occurred prior to the start of the story, and the scenes that occurred between the prologue and chapter one.

The first scene in The Cut-takes will be Edward's dream which I posted earlier on my blog. The second scene is below. Both with be posted on FF soon.

The Emily Scene
July 29th, 2011

She had been married to Sam since she was eighteen and it was hard to believe that in another eight months it would be twenty years that they'd been together – not that they hadn't had their share of cliffs and crags.

After ten years of being married, the cuffs that bound them together had begun to chafe and her husband ended up having a relationship with a young woman. Emily had never found out who it was that he'd spent a summer running around with. At the time it had happened she hadn't known about it all, actually. In fact, she hadn't found out until more than four and a half years after he'd broken it off.

When she'd discovered his infidelity, she'd walked and returned to her parents home on the Makah reservation. She'd never been able to determine if father spirit had a hand in it or if it was just pure kismet, but the discovery of her being pregnant had been the only thing that had prevented her from filing a divorce.

Almost the entirety of the next year – and most of the year after that – she'd spent living with her parents. It was only after her husband had gotten down on his knees and begged for forgiveness that she'd gone back to him.

The twins, Alec and Jane, were a handful. At four years old now they got into everything, from matches to water hoses. So far they'd had two house fires, a house flood, a torn up couch, and four prank calls to 911 in the last six months alone which had all been caused by the twins. Their ability to get into trouble left both Emily and Sam exhausted daily.

She woke up at five in the morning to find the twins already watching cartoons on the television.

She shook her head. "What do you want for breakfast?"

"Marmelly cereal!" Jane shouted.

Alec suddenly looked at her. "Mom, doesn't rocky road has marsamello?"

"Yes, and nuts. And no you can't have that for breakfast, Alec."

"That wasn't why I wa askin. I saw a dawing of a man at Lee-La's house and she say it was drawn by Seth. She call the picture rocky road. Why would a dawing be a rocky road?"

Emily's brow furrowed as she contemplated the meaning behind a comment like that and didn't respond to her young son.

The Emotional Roller Coaster Of Life Outtakes

As I'm now almost thirty chapters into The Emotional Roller Coaster Of Life, I'm starting to realize there are some scenes that I can't go into in the story that I'd love to show in more detail. So far there are two that really stick out in my mind.

First

The Date - The scene showing the epic first date between Rosalie and Emmett from the time they first sat down to eat, to their night in bed together.

Second

William Charles Black - A story showing the happiest point in Bella and Jacob's life from when their son was born.

----------------------------

Are there any scenes you'd want to see that happened in the five years between the prologue and first chapter of the book?

Please comment with what you'd like to see if you do.

The Emotional Roller Coaster Of Life - The "Real" Chapter 26

Officially, this chapter was removed from The Emotional Roller Coaster Of Life because it A) doesn't add much to the story unless you're a psyche major or otherwise like to over analyze stuff, B) is only about a hundred and fifty words (so shorter than my minimum in my drabbles), and C) it's a dream so it doesn't exactly fit with the rest of the story.

But for anyone who wants to read it, here it is:

Chapter 26 - Dream (Edward)

August 1st, 2011

He was running on a giant hamster wheel and going nowhere. The hamster wheel was made of a kaleidoscope of colors with giant twizzler flavored bars. It felt like he'd been running on this same wheel for years.

He could feel the beady eyes of the giant ferret staring at him and he wanted to curl in on himself and hide, but he couldn't stop running. He didn't dare stop.

If he stopped then the white rabbit or black hawk would get him for sure. He just knew it. They were always trying to grab him and take him away from his wheel, but his wheel was his safety and he needed it. It protected him from the giant dark brown ferret that was always looking for another way to hurt him.

So he didn't dare leave his wheel. It was his only real saving grace. The hawk and rabbit couldn't save him.

No one could.
