Set firmly in the world of reality, she doesn't truly believe that this new family could be anything other than human. She finds a soul mate in Edward, and eventually a star-crossed lover in Jacob. Are either enough to last forever? BxE then BxJ ends with BxM.

The Inspiration Behind the Idea
So why this story? What inspired a story like this?
I've read Twilight fanfiction for over ten years. This is not a joke. I've been writing it, on and off, for roughly nine and a half years. One of the first things I ever discovered was that I like a lot more than just Bella and Edward stories. In fact I have, read, fallen in love with, and favorited dozens of BellaxJacob, BellaxJasper, BellaxEmmett, BellaxCarlisle, BellaxAlice, BellaxRosalie, BellaxVolturi... on and on it goes, but the one thing that is missing are Bella and a human. Oh I've found a couple here and there, but none that really felt true to Bella... even an ooc one (I know that sounds weird, but I don't know how else to explain it). That's not to say I don't love other pairings too, because I do. I'm a big fan of RenesmeexJacob, AlicexJasper, EmmettxRosalie, CarlislexEsme, WolfxImprint, VolturixVolturi, etc...
But, for years, I've wanted to see Bella make a choice that wasn't about being a fickle lovesick teenager who has no clue what love really is, and instead make a choice that would be the smart one for her future. That's why this is ultimately going to be a BellaxMike. But first, she has to get there. So we have BellaxEdward still and then we have BellaxJacob. This story may not be about an epic romance - in the long run - but it is about the differences between fantasy and reality.
