Word Scrabble

So, occasionally I use really big words in my stories, things people aren't always necessarily familiar with. Words like vicenarian, bankophobia, situational storm, etc.

The thing is, I often spend a lot of time looking up the larger words in my stories, because in my mind I play word scrabble with words like thing, junk, shit, crap, etc.

I am rarely as eloquent in real life as I am in my stories

Rebirth and Affliction Sneak Peek

A brief teaser of Chapter 15 - Epoch:

I closed my eyes for a moment as I leaned back against a tree. Archie had gone with Edythe to get a pickup truck for me. I'd told them not to go overboard – I honestly didn't need a top of the line, state of the art, brand new vehicle – but I wasn't hopeful that she'd listened.

For some reason I still didn't completely understand, she felt the need to continually spoil me – and more often than not with things I would never get for myself.

Olympia was far enough way that I could have gone as well and been seen in public but she'd wanted to go pick it up and surprise me so I'd let her have her fun. After all, as long as she came back with a truck and not a muscle car, I'd be happy.

It still wouldn't be my old Chevy but I'd get used to it. I suspected I'd even get used to her constant desire to pamper me, though I had no clue how.

About My Stories

I have a lot of stories I'm working on and I want to assure people I haven't forgotten any of them, but I wanted to talk a little about where I'm at with each of them and why some haven't gotten updates in awhile - this is specifically with regards to my fanfics (I may do another for my three original fics later).

Most important, I want to express that I put my heart and soul into my stories, and because of that I sometimes get to place where I hit a stagnant standstill - as I don't ever want to put out something that I feel isn't a true (or at the bare minimum, decent) representation of the story in question.

The first one, and the one that I am most sincerely invested in, is my continuation of Life and Death. I'm currently about halfway through Rebirth and Affliction, which is my second book in this series. The third and final full length book being Affliction and Life. This series is very important to me as I want to do the characters and the plot justice which isn't always easy. Right now I'm in a section where I completed one story arc and am not ready to start the next arc. Fluff is not my forte though which is why it's taking so long to write.

The next, The Differences Between Fantasy and Reality (sometimes called TDBFR), has hit two of the most important chapters of the story. Because these chapters are the chapters that will show the heartbreak and grief after Edward left. This is something I always felt was missing from Twilight which is why I desperately want to show it, but it takes a very specific type of mindset to write those types of chapters and I haven't quite found that headspace yet.

Then there's The Emotional Roller Coaster Of Life (sometimes shortened to Roller Coaster or TERCL). I'm still fairly active and trying to get chapters out regularly, but this story deals with a lot of topics that are really close to home which makes it difficult and is why I haven't been getting a chapter a day out as well as I was at the start.

After that is RR (which stands for Russian Roulette, if anyone doesn't know) and it's over halfway done at this point. The thing is that RR is extremely painful for me to write, every chapter puts me through the ringer, I can't explain why unfortunately, but it is why each chapter takes so long for me to get done.

Following this is The Hunter which is actually easier for me to work on than some of the others, but this is, by far, the most OOC Bella that I've ever written as it handles a Bella that is extremely of the supernatural and hates all of them - with a special and personal hatred for vampires. This story isn't super difficult for me to work on yet, but I am trying to pace myself with this story so I don't burn myself out.

The sixth, It's A Twin Thing (often shortened to Twin Thing), I have no pre-arranged plot for so I can really only write a chapter when I actually know where to take the next chapter. Unfortunately this makes for slow chapters.

This is proceeded by Necromancy in the Fifth, my newest story and I do have a plan on this story, but I want to make sure updates are paced in between a couple of chapters from other stories which is why updates will be slow.

The eighth, The Beast, is actually a Tie-in to one of the stories mentioned above but can be read completely as a stand alone. However, as it's a blog exclusive, I'm only going to write it as the mood strikes.

And finally, my last story is my continuation of Breaking Dawn. This is my extremely long game and it will get to where I want it to go in time.

Blast from the Past: The Difference Ten Years Makes

Five Years Later was my first ever posted story. It was removed from FF.net and Stars (then TWCS, I'm pretty sure) in August of 2015. Eventually, after this story has a major overhaul, I do intend to repost it. But for now, this is a comparison of the prologue from when I first wrote this story ten years ago, to my current edited version.

Prologue - Ten Years Ago

… “Mouthwatering,” he repeated, inhaling deeply.

I tensed for the spring, my eyes squinting as I cringed away, and the sound of Edward’s furious roar echoed distantly in the back of my head. His name burst through all the walls I’d built to contain it. Edward, Edward, Edward. I was going to die. It shouldn’t matter if I thought of him now. Edward, I love you.

He was at my side in an instant. He grabbed my hair pulling my head to the side as he forced me to the ground. His teeth sunk into my neck, and the searing pain was instant. I suddenly heard a loud crash right next to my ear. I forced my eyes open and saw the wolves ripping at Laurent. The pain of the fire burning through me on the inside was making it impossible for me to understand what was happening in front of my eyes.

One of the wolves ran off. A few moments and Jacob came running into the clearing. I wanted to yell at him to run away. But I couldn’t it was taking all my energy to not start screaming in agony. Jacob ran straight over to me. He bent down next to my head and saw the wound.

He turned around and faced the wolves. “Now she’s changing, we shouldn’t have waited till he bit her.” He yelled at them.

The black wolf turned towards us and growled.

Suddenly Jacob took up a defensive position. “No, she won’t pay for your mistake Sam. I will not allow her to die just because you wouldn’t do what’s right and attack before that leech attacked.”

Then my vision blurred and I couldn’t hear there argument anymore. The only sensation I had was the pain of the fire burning through every ounce of my body.

Prologue - after revisions today

… “Mouthwatering,” he repeated, inhaling deeply.

I tensed for the spring, my eyes squinting as I cringed away, and the sound of Edward’s furious roar echoed distantly in the back of my head. His name burst through all the walls I’d built to contain it. Edward, Edward, Edward. I was going to die. It shouldn’t matter if I thought of him now. Edward, I love you.

Laurent was at my side in an instant, grabbing my hair and pulling my head to the side as he forced me to the ground. His teeth sunk into my neck and the searing pain of a fire I recognized all too well was instantaneous.

I suddenly heard a loud crash right next to my ear so I forced my eyes open, seeing through blurred eyes as a group of massive wolves ripped at Laurent. The pain of the fire burning through me was making it impossible for me to fully understand what exactly I was seeing – other than the fact that part of me knew it was completely impossible.

One of the wolves ran off and a few moments later Jacob came running into the clearing. I wanted – needed even – to yell at him to run away but I couldn’t as it was taking every ounce of my will to not start screaming in agony. Jacob ran straight over to me, bending down next to my head. I was pretty sure his hand briefly touched my neck but couldn't actually feel it.

He turned around in a move so fast that my pained focus was completely unable to catch, facing the wolves. “Now she’s changing, we shouldn’t have waited till he bit her,” he yelled at them in anger.

I was relatively certain if my face wasn't already contorted in pain than it would be contorting in confusion instead. How could he know?

The black wolf turned towards us and growled.

Suddenly, Jacob took up a defensive position. “No, she won’t pay for your mistake, Sam. I will not allow her to die just because you wouldn’t do what was right and attack before that leech bit her.”

Then my focus gave out and my vision completely blurred out as well as any other knowledge of the world around me. The only sensation I had was the pain of the fire burning through every inch of my body.

Why the Title The Emotional Roller Coaster Of Life

The title of this story, The Emotional Roller Coaster Of Life, was a title that I originally decided on back in 2010, and I love the analogy of a roller coaster, because they are very complex. They've also been around for a long time, dating back to the 17th which is over a century before both the first known train and first known cars.

But the thing with roller coasters is that they're an accurate representation of life. Modern day roller coasters very greatly in length, speed, height, number of loops and more. This is very similar to life, some people will live to be a centurion while others lives will cut abruptly short. There's freight, thrill, laughs, screams and more that occur depending on the roller coaster a person ride. And also, just like roller coasters, life is full of colors. Things are never black and white.

When I decided to write an AH story and put my emotional core on the line for it, I wanted to give an accurate representation to the highs and lows of life. That's why the title and it's a large part of the reason behind a lot of the events that have occurred.

Supernatural

As of yesterday, the longest running show of its kind has announced that it's final season is coming.

For those who don't know/have never gotten into it, Supernatural, starring Jensen Ackles (known for his roles as Eric Brady in Days of our Lives, Alec McDowell in Dark Angel, and Jason Teague in Smallville), Jared Padalecki (known for his role as Dean Forester in Gilmore Girls), and Misha Collins (known for... not much honestly) is currently in it's fourteenth season.

And yesterday it was announced that season fifteen would be the last.

I have watched Supernatural from the very beginning and own the first thirteen seasons of the show on DVD. I'm the first to admit that over the years the show somewhat lost me. My favorite seasons are still the first five, but I have continued to watch this show and in many ways will truly miss it when it's gone.

My one hope, season fifteen will recapture more of the "saving people, hunting things, the family business," which has been largely missing for a long time now.

Banners and Me

I'm not a professional when it comes to banner making. That being said, as of this point, not a single one of my stories has a banner I didn't make/manipulate/work on in some way.

I see a lot of people out there that can do amazing things with a few images and a software program like Photoshop or Gimp. I'm not such a person. I do have gimp and I have used it a few times in the past, but mostly I work with Pixlr, which is a free online software that also allows manipulation of pictures.

From pixlr, I can do basic image manipulation, which mostly means flipping photo, using transparency, filtration, text, and other simple tools. Sometimes, I can lair images, but for the most part I works with a single photo and manipulate it.

I've offered a few banners for free or give a few to people from time to time, but mostly what I make is for myself.

Slytherin Day

I'm not big on Harry Potter, which I've never denied, but I've gone through the different surveys and used to have a Pottermore account (still do actually) and I've always identified the most with Slytherin. So Happy Sytherin Day

Running on Empty

I've spent over eight hours staring blankly at my computer screen and even though I know where I want my stories to go, can see it my mind and know the general themes, plots, etc for the continuation of my stories... the words just aren't typing. The truth of the matter is that I've put well over five hundred thousand words down that I've posted between last June and now and it's starting to wear on me. My creativity level is running on empty as a result.

I'm going to keep to trying to make myself write because I want to complete my stories, but fair warning, unless I can dig deep and force a second wind... there's going to be slow chapters ahead.

RR Sneak Peek

A brief teaser of Chapter 8 - Misery Loves Company:

“I'm sorry to hear Bella's been injured, but she's an adult and responsible for her own well-being,” a man who Alice couldn't immediately place said coldly as he stared at their family.

“If we could just speak with her mom, Renee. This is really important, Phil,” Carlisle stated, his voice extremely calm, placating even.

“I'm sure it is, just as I'm sure Renee would do anything for her prodigal daughter who could do no wrong – even after she essentially ran her own father into an early grave with her wild whims – but Renee has late stage stomach cancer and she's not in the physical health to help Bella. So whatever trouble Bella has found herself in, she can get herself out of it.” Phil stood in front of a door to a relatively large beach house and it appeared as if the sun had only barely gone down.

“I remember Bella used to talk fondly of you. I'd have thought you'd have felt the same,” Alice's future self said to him.

“I liked her when Renee and I were dating, but she turned into a real troublemaker later in life. Honestly, I suspect now the accident in Phoenix was actually of her own creation. I won't have her ruining what's left of my wife's life.”

“You don't understand, Bella was shot in the head. Renee is Bella's next and only living kin.”

“That's not our problem.” Phil stared them down for a few seconds before finally opening the door behind him to go back inside.

Happy St Patrick's Day

Video Games and Me

So I've talked a lot about different things that inspire me, but one topic I haven't touched on yet is video games, and I know this is a... touchy subject, but I wanted to talk about it.

I've been playing video games since I was a young kid, and one of the oldest games I ever remember playing was Pong on Intellivision. Now, for younger generation who've never played pong, I will say that it was a strangely addictive game, but the graphics horrible.

However, it was the next system that I have my most fondest memories with. The NES (Nintendo Entertainment System). Now when compared to today's graphics, these too would be considered crap, but the reality is that the NES was the first major improvement to video games, and with this system came the start of the greatest game series that still exist to this day. The first Final Fantasy came out on NES, along with Mario, Zelda, Link, and Donkey Kong. And one of my all time favorite games, Duck Hunt.  And to this day there is something so pure and simple about the graphics and design of these games that I still pull them out and play them.

I will admit, I never got a Sega, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, or even more recently, Wii. Though I'm familiar with all theses systems, I don't have any of them.

On the other hand, I've been with Playstation since the beginning and have one of their first ever released games: Legacy of Kain. There are many ps games I love, but a few that I go back to time again - games I've even driven inspiration from for my stories - are Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Soul Reaver, Drakan: The Ancient Gates, Chocobo, Sly Cooper, The Legend of Dragoon, Jak & Daxter, Ratchett & Clank, Tomb Raider, Beyond Good & Evil, and Uncharted.

There's a theme to that list of games, but I'm not going to go into it.

But perhaps my all time favorite game is Kingdom Hearts and I often play this game when I hit a brick wall in my writing. Even though Kingdom Hearts has an overtly complicated storyline with plot holes galore, the play is still fun, the graphics are well made, and overall it's a game allows a person to remember their youth with fondness.

The Hunter Sneak Peek

A brief teaser of Chapter 6 - Sinker:

As I got out of the car I ran through a list of names, putting the faces with the bodies. They were Quileute, and as my mom had taught me, the Quileutes had shape-shifters in their bloodline – something I was choosing to ignore as most shape-shifters lived a normal human life and never actually changed.

Unfortunately, based off of the way the boy looked, the gene had been reactivated – something that occurred whenever there was a threat close enough to them to trigger the genetic transition, causing a chemical reaction which heated and aged the body enough to properly be able to survive the transition. I knew I couldn’t let the suspicion get confirmed though, because if I did, I would have to kill the boy myself or call in another hunting faction to destroy him. And, in spite of everything, I didn't want to hurt my dad who had to be friends with this man and his son. So ignorance was my only option.

The name of the man in the wheelchair finally came to me, Billy. His legs had been permanently damaged in the car wreck which had killed his wife back when I had only been a few years old. They'd had three kids, a set of twin girls who were around two years older than me, Rebecca and Rachel, and a boy about two years younger than me, Jacob. That had to be the boy who stood in front of me now.

Story Recs

So normally when I do story recs, they're all stories I've personally read and liked or even loved. The list today is not that. I have read a couple of these, but most are on my to be read list. Instead, this list is inspired my the posts that I've been noticing in the facebook groups I follow. All stories listed have been updated/completed withing the last three weeks.

(facebook groups include, but are not limited to: TwiFandomNews, Twilight FanFiction Pays it Forward, The No Rules Twilight fan fic Recs Club, Tufano79 Twilight Fanfiction Appreciation, and Favorite Twilight Fanfiction)

As always, as I'm not good at writing personalized descriptions, the summaries are directly from the stories in question. All stories in this post are on FF.net, so if any of the authors that I rec'd are for some reason upset by it and want me to remove their story then please let me know via a pm on FF.net and I'll remove it - but as it's free publicity, I don't know why someone would take issue with it.

Why Renesmee?

So I'll write from the POV of close to any character in the Twilight Universe, but there are certain characters I like writing more than others. One of which is Bella (post still to come), another is Beau, and my third is Renesmee.

Now I know that not everyone is enamored by the final book in the Twilight Saga. I've heard the arguments against the fourth book and while I won't disagree with those opinions, I personally find a different book in the saga to be the greater evil New Moon.

Here's the thing though, I love Renesmee as a character because she is literally the most blank canvas of all the characters in the book. The whole life span that we get to see her is a span of a few months, and during that brief time she grew to a physical age of maybe four years old.

So she still was an infant and we have no idea how her life will turn out. We have no idea if she'll be a killer, a mother, a lover, or anything else. The world is the playground with her.

For me, this makes her a perfect character.

Necromancy in the Fifth Sneak Peek

A second brief teaser of Chapter 2 (which I'm currently working on):

“She keeps scaring me with ghosts,” Bree stated loudly, stomping her foot when she finished marching up to me.

I glanced around to make sure none of the numerous people were in attendance heard her. “You know not to talk about it where people can hear, Bree.”

“But mom and dad don't believe me!”

“Because I not doing anyting.” Sasha stated, her lip pouting out.

I sighed. “Bree, you know mom and dad have talked about this with you.”

She crossed her arms over her chest, pouting. “Why can't it be Sasha's doing?”

“It could. Just as it could be our parents or my doing. But it's not. And you know it.”

Bree's pout grew more defined. She wasn't like Sasha and I, nor was she like Alice. Bree was special. Occasionally, though it was rare, normal humans had the gift to sense, feel or occasionally even see the dead... actually, it wasn't all that rare. Of all the thousands of humans out there who pretended to be able to communicate with the dead for money, at least ten percent of them legitimately had some ability to sense them, and there were even more locked up in mental wards and the likes. But they were like Bree, they could feel them – possibly even see them – but they weren't able to hear or talk with them. The fact that Bree had been born a sensitive in our family though, was more than a little ironic.

The thing was, she didn't want to be sensitive, she wanted to be a normal girl.

Old Shows

I wanted to just go over some old favorite shows of mine. None of these shows are too old as all but one were aired originally in my lifetime, but they all no longer air.

The first shows I wanted to touch on are Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: The Princess Warrior. I watched both of these shows from the very beginning, through the amazingly weaved storylines, weird future take episodes, and even weirder musical episodes until the bitter end, and to this day I don't know which one ended on a worse note. The one that ended with the main character's death or the one that was cut short mid-season with no final resolution for the series. In spite of that, these two shows remain to be two of my favorites to this day.

The next one is Charmed. The original series, not the remake that is occurring now. I miss the original Charmed, for me, this is one of the best show I ever watched and I still watch reruns to this day.

Then there were Medium and Ghost Whisperer. They both started around the same time and had similar ideas which is why I put them together. For me, these shows were both interesting, and some of the episodes were quite painful to watch.

Another show I loved was Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye. A show inspired by a true story, it has one of the most interesting premises I've ever watched.

And Early Edition, a show that was truly interesting to watch. I really wish I could get that newspaper for myself and fill out a lotto ticket with the next day's winning numbers.

And I had a love for law, medicine, and detective shows, watching things like Judging Amy, JAG, CSI (as well as Miami, New York, and Cyber), Rookie Blue, Diagnosis: Murder, Cold Case, Without A Trace, Boston Legal, and Numb3rs with abandon. Some other shorter lasting shows that I loved include, Life, Unforgettable (okay it technically lasted five seasons, but I only count the first three), Shark, Dark Angel, Young Blades, Legend of the Seeker, Hemlock Grove, Secret Circle, and Veronica Mars.

Finally, the only older show that I love so much I will still watch reruns any chance I get is Gilligan's Island. For some reason, this classic show is so truly intriguing that I simply love it.

(Unmentioned here are vampire shows, please refer to the vampire edition from awhile ago for those)

Weird Fic Ideas

So, for the most part, it's more angst than anything else when I write, but occasionally other ideas start swimming in my head. These ideas below are some of them that are currently floating around. I don't know when I'll start writing any of them (or if in one case) but I just want to put them down for now.

One Hundred Lives

A story about a hundred different people that all live in the same town. The design in my mind is almost as if each chapter was an individual featurette or one-shot that focused on a single character's story. This is actually something I could almost see written with multiple people on a joint account and everyone writes specific character(s). ... Not sure I'll ever actually do this.

In the Back Alleys

An all animal drabble fic, that will be fairly comedic featuring Edward the cat prowling the alleys and Bella the dog chasing him amongst the other characters. My intention is to write it completely before posting.

Of Fairies and Pixie Dust

Another more comedic tale. It's going to be a short story that will last no more than about five to ten chapters. It will be a f/f tale between Bella and Alice as fairies who get high on pixie dust during the mating ritual after they discover they are mates. Once again, I want to write this one in full before posting.

Dearly Beloved

A o/s or short inspired by the song, Dearly Beloved by Faith Hill. As with the nature of the song, the story should be more amusing than angsty.

and finally

If Dragons Could Fly

Still determining the details of this fic, but once again it shouldn't be an angst story.

Seth and The Emotional Roller Coaster Of Life

In case it hasn't been clear, I am a huge supporter of the LGBT community, but when I started this story and - at the last possible minute - decided to change Seth's character from a creepy stalker to an innocent teen who is gay, I knew where I was taking his character.

In the year 2011 (the year I set this story in) there was a lot of dispute over the rights of gays. I can remember my own father in 2010 talking with our family priest about how he thought all gays and lesbians should be locked up in Guantanamo and the key thrown away, and the priest laughing about it in response. To put this into an even sicker context, this was after my little brother came out as being gay.

In 2015, the United States legalized same-sex marriage, but it by no means means that such prejudism is over. As most people remember, the Pulse Orlando Nighclub (an LGBT nightclub) shooting occurred in 2016 and cost 49 people their lives on top of injuring another 53.

A sad reality is that, while I hope in the years and decades to come, it'll be significantly different than it still is, there is a huge hatred toward being anything other than plain vanilla heterosexual. And that hatred is often times passed from parent to child with no thought whatsoever of the consequences behind spewing such hate.

I wasn't able to find a current statistic on the suicide rate for gays and lesbians, but I did find a statistic that suggests almost 40% of all transgender eventually kill themselves. That's a flooring statistic, and not in a good way. I also remember as a young teen reading an article in a major magazine, possibly times, though it could have been another one, which showed a statistic of one in every five homosexuals who are teens or young adults to commit suicide. That would have been in the late nineties or the very early two thousands.

Unfortunately, I suspect that statistic isn't much less now. As a child, if you're raised to believe that loving someone other than the opposite sex is wrong because that's what the bible says or the Quran says or because that's what your parents have told you it can cause major depression. And often times that depression, fear, and self-disgust will go untreated.

More often than not, the end result can and will be death, suicide specifically. Personally I have lost two cousins and a very close friend who were all LGBT.

With Seth, I tried to casually show that depression without actually spelling it out. The truth of the matter is that he was one push away from the very beginning of the story. He did make a cry for help to his sister, but I'm sure he know what the response would be. The sad thing is that more often than not there is no one to hear such a plea.

The Wish of the Damned Sneak Peek

A brief teaser of Chapter 4: Waking Up -

A tremor rakes Cecilia's body as Belial stands over her, one of several to have occurred in the last fifteen minutes. He takes a step back from her, watching the fur sprouting out on the back of her hands. Every hair on the back of his neck is standing up as he watches.

Belial knows he should turn his back, walk out of this room and proceed to leave the building. His mind is screaming at him to do just that, but he doesn't. Instead he just backs up slightly as he watches the transformation start.

She arches off the bed before falling back to the bed, the sound of her vertebrae snapping from the violent motion overshadows the sound of bones in her arms and legs snapping. Her arm lurches violently outward as her body twists in on itself. The shape of her back changing and forcing itself inwards, into the form of a wolf's back.

If Belial had never seen this before, he'd be running for the hills about now.

My New Dog

Just got this dog on Saturday. She's a mini australian shepherd dog that's about a year old and she's almost more exhausting than my six week old daughter

Music Recs

I've been listening to a handful of people as of late more than anything else. They are all what I would consider as being lesser known singers. So I thought I'd spotlight them.

Gabby was the third place finisher is Season 16 of American Idol, and recently released a song called I Hope. I have listened to the song multiple times since discovering and hope to hear more from her.

Katelyn is probably known better as an actress, having played a recurring role in No Ordinary Family. But she released a song called You Don't Know about a year ago that absolutely love. It does have a decent number of hits, but it's her only song that does. Whether she's a just a one hit wonder or something more I think is yet to be seen.

Tenille is a relatively new artist with a recent release called I Hate This. I haven't listened to any of her other work yet, but I find I Hate This amazing to listen to.

Kalleigh has been singing for awhile, but none of her songs have really hit it big. I find her voice to be soulful and love several of her works. Two of which are Once Upon A and Sorry On The Rocks.

Catherine is another singer who I've stumbled upon. She has some beautiful songs with genuinely interesting lyric, among some of my favorites by her are Cinderella, Wild, and Good Goodbyes.

And finally there's Beth, Beth writes songs inspired by books. Perhaps it is because of that that I find her work to be so beautiful, or perhaps it's just that she's truly that good of a singer, but whatever the case may be, I do encourage people to give her a listen. One of her more recent songs, Please Take Me, is a real favorite of mine.

Why Twilight?

I've had people tell me in the past that I must really love Twilight. I've also had people ask why I write the stories I do and I've had people insinuate that I'm pro Edward or that I'm pro Jake, etc, etc.

So I thought I'd talk about this. And I'd start with the first piece. I do not love or even like Twilight. And I never will. That's not to say I hate Twilight, because I don't.

The Twilight Saga is interesting, intriguing, etc. The books and the movies, in my opinion, are neither good nor bad. They are, however, compelling.

The first thing about Twilight that I recognized is that the series is about somebody average. Somebody normal. Which is extremely different from almost any other book series out there that I've read/am familiar with. In most books, the main character is extraordinary in some way.

Now, it's true, by the end of second book it's pretty obvious she's not as ordinary as it feels in the first, and by the end of the final book it's clear as day. But, big BUT, it's that first book that can compel a reader to continue. So that's what pulled me in, the ordinariness of it. The fact that it's a character who almost anybody can associate with.

And it's because of the compelling nature of the first book that I pull the books out and reread them every few months.

It's also why I write about Twilight. It's compelling.

But it is not one of my favorite books, it's not in my top one hundred or even my top thousand. Then again, I'll never write a fanfic about something I truly love (with one exception from more than nine years ago, and I'll call that the frustrations of a twenty-three year old and leave it at that).

I'm not the type to change something that is already amazing.

I'm also not the type to write fanfics about stuff that I hate (again there's been an exception and there probably will be one more at some point in the future)

If Twilight ever stops compelling me, I'l probably give up writing about it. I don't see that happening any time soon though.

Now, as to what team I am. I'm Team Mike. Get over it.

The Emotional Roller Coaster Of Life Length

So I haven't been able to give a length for this story, it's been one that - while I can see the last scenes - I was unable to quite figure out how long it would be before I got there. I finally have a rough estimate though.

So officially as of now, I am guessing there are going to be less than sixty chapters until the epilogue. We have about ten to fifteen more in the month October, and then probably somewhere between twenty to thirty chapters in November and another twenty or so in December.

Then there will be an epilogue and finally and afterward.

I do promise that the vast majority will have a HEA.
